Internship Experience: James Parker Studio

James Parker is an Australian painter based and owner of an intimate studio in the charming district of Lisbon. His background resides as founder and designer of a furniture company, moving to Lisboa to continue his long standing devotion to painting.

Mimi & Cal are 1 month CapacityUK interns, the role, Art Photography and Content Creation for Social Media places them behind the scenes in James’ cosy studio. They support the artist by creating and launching content for social media platform, Instagram. The interns come through with their creative knowledge, Mimi (Mia) Sakai having a developed background in Fashion Photography, owning her own fashion magazine, Aether, for 8 years! After setting up James’ account, Cal and Mimi uploaded several series of his artwork, most of which are now finally for sale! His large scale paintings have been professionally photographed with studio lighting entirely set up by the interns. They have curated a process which suits the creative needs and requirements of James and his dream of growing a successful and exclusive customer base.  His followers are already rapidly growing thanks to the hard and dedicated effort the interns have put in already, 2 weeks into their placement. 

Adopting their well versed backgrounds in creative content production, Mimi and Cal have edited a plethora of James’ artwork. Their skills using Adobe applications such as Photoshop and Lightroom have been put to good use as they review with studio principal content for digital publication and social media posts. With only 2 weeks left on their placement, they are soaking up as much experience from their time working with James as possible! All the whilst relishing in the captivating beauty of Lisbon.
